About This Site

The design and development of the Long-Term Effects of Childhood Cancer Treatment website was funded by a grant from the Texas Cancer Council. This site provides overviews of the essential components of physical concerns, psychosocial care, and issues of the future that a survivor, his/her family and health care provider would want to consider.

The content of this site was developed by Marilyn Hockenberry, PhD, RN-CS, PNP, CPON, FAAN; Bonnie Byrne, LMSW; Pim Brouwers, PhD; Christine Chordas, MSN, RN, CPNP; Michelle Fritsch, LMSW-ACP; Ernest Frugé, PhD; Joy Griggsby, LMSW; Elizabeth Kassner, MS, RN, CPNP, CPON; Nancy Kline, PhD, RN, CPNP; Sean Morgan, LMSW; Amy Morris, MS, CCLS; Rebecca Savoie, LMSW-ACP.

Advisory Committee members from throughout the state helped oversee the development of the content. Expert reviewers from Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital, both in Houston, Texas helped to ensure comprehensiveness and accuracy of the content and the site.

The video interviews with survivors, which appear throughout the site were conducted by Ernest Frugé, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics and Family and Community Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine and Director, Psychosocial Programs, Texas Children's Cancer Center, Texas Children's Hospital.
